in thrust block we need to take the clearences in between the thrust pad and shaft collar because these kidney shaped pads with white metal are always in touch with collar and the lubrication in that part is vital,so clearances is VI .pull the complete shaft to aft using jack so the collar ll rest on the aft pad.now v put a feeler gauge in the forward pad ,u get the total clearance... value ll be in d manuals.
